What: Marksmanship Practice - marksmanship is the shooting of air rifles (shoots pellets) at targets by cadets in both the prone (lying) and standing positions. The range is overseen by a qualified Range Safety Officer to ensure the safety of the cadets. All new cadets are taught the proper handling and use of the air rifle before they are actually allowed to participate.
Who: All cadets who are interested in shooting are allowed to come. Any 1st year cadets must go through the rifle handling tests before being permitted to shoot.
When: Thursday nights, 6pm-9pm
Where: Dieppe Market - it's in the basement. If you approach the Marché St entrance, there is a small grey door to the left of the entrance. That is the entrance to the basement.
What to wear: All cadets will be lying on the floor, so wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Lots of cadets choose to wear sweat pants and hoodies.
What to bring: There can be quite a bit of downtime between bouts of shooting, so all cadets are asked to bring something to occupy their time: homework, a book, playing cards, etc. Cadets are asked to not make too much noise as to not distract those cadets who are shooting.
